Places to Visit in York
Colonial Complex,

Tour the Colonial Complex, the gem of downtown York, once the capital of the United States. Walk through the same doorways and rooms where Continental Army Generals and Congressmen forged history. Included are the 1741 Golden Plough Tavern, the oldest building in the city, adjoining General Gates House, Barnett Bobb Log House and the reconstructed Colonial Court House.

Historical Society Museum and Library

The Historical Society Museum and Library, within walking distance, showcases early history into the Civil War, featuring some of the most important artifacts and documents from York County, including many decorative arts. A visit to the Bonham House will take you through time into the high style of Victorian America.

Rail Trail

The Rail Trail leads to the Agricultural and Industrial Museum, a must for the entire family. Locomotives, automobiles, farm equipment, large and small industrial machinery and even an airplane recreate this golden era in York history.

Fire Museum

The operational 1829 Grist Mill and the 1904 seventy-two ton “ice maker” will leave a lasting impression on your visit. Nearby, 225 years of fire-fighting equipment is preserved inside the Fire Museum, located in a 1903 firehouse.

All of this excitement is available with the purchase of one admission pass.
